The second article is an extremely interesting read.

Changes for a bigger air intake similar to the PD160 (like most do on the fabia mk1) and it actually resulted in a loss of power!

This was due to the map still being standard, hence not being set up for the larger amount of air, so messing up the fuelling ratio. Once remapped it obviously produced much better figures, but begs the question of how many on here spend £90+ on a pd160 intake and put it on their standard fabia and feel a placebo effect of a power increase? When according to this article it will actually perform worse!
