Central locking odd behaviour

Featured Replies

I have a 56 plate Octavia 1.9TDi - and have odd behavior with the central locking. On a random basis, when I turn on the ignition, all the doors lock on the car. It doesn't happen everytime though, just whenever the car seems to feel like it.

I'm guessing this isn't correct behavior and I should get the garage to look at it?

There is a feature called 'anti-hijack' which automatically locks all the doors when you reach 5mph and then unlocks them when you pull the key out of the ignition.

This can be turned on/off by the dealer (or yourself if you have Maxidot).

It shouldn't do it until you reach 5mph though so it sounds as though you have an issue somewhere...

how do you grip key when turning it in ignition barrel possibly overly sensitive worn button?

Unfortunately not, as it's not remote central locking.
