Pc Problem

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I wonder if one of you clever lot on here can help me with a little problem I have with one of my computers?

I will be as brief as possible

I have three computers on a home network all on windows 7, two on ethernet connection and one laptop on wireless. All have BT net protect plus A.V protection. Now my problem is that they were all working perfectly up until recently but now one and only one of the ethernet wired ones is having difficulty downloading from the internet any software etc. and when I try a speed test it refuses to show upload speed getting stuck on the download speed indicator. The only way I can get this particular one to download is to disable the firewall until it's finished. I have to stress I have made no alterations to the A.V. settings and the other two computers work fine. I tried uninstalling the A.V. programme and then reinstalling to no avail and all the settings are on default. It's not a matter of life or death because the particular P.C. is only used occaisonally but it's just bugging me!

Appreciate any advice you can give. (can't put a smiley face so just imagine it)

Andy

Download Malware Bytes and reboot to safe mode (press F8 on boot and select Safe Mode). Install and run Malware Bytes.

Sounds like an infection of some sort, to me.
