Exporting Octavia

Featured Replies

Hello, I am currently exporting a 1999 tdi Octavia to Turkey, just done their MOT but failed because one parkinglight out and ENGINE NUMBER broken!!! The technician showed me the broken engine number plate corroded and rusted and broken. Is there another engine number embossed on the block somewhere and if so where? Other threads suggest that there is, any help please.

Thanks for the welcome,

I have the Engine number on lots of documents but here they want to also see it on the engine, is there anywhere I should be looking for a second engine number which is embossed on the engine? it is an AHF engine.

Thanks

This is what the workshop manual says:

The engine number (“engine code” and “serial number”) is located at the front at the joint separating engine/gearbox. In addition, a sticker with the "engine identification characters" and "serial number" is affixed to the timing belt guard. The engine identification characters are also indicated on the vehicle data sticker.
