What can't be done via maxidot

Featured Replies

Collecting the car next Thursday, but will be calling in on Friday to sort the paperwork etc. what I like to know what can't be done via maxidot. I'm looking at having the autolock/auto unlock enabled and 1 key unlocking as well. So any of these have to be done through the dealer on the pd or can i do these myselfi. What else can be altered via maxidot. Thanks

Both via dealer auto locking is known as "anti hi-jack" I believe. Other things to check are if its on fixed or variable servicing that will be visible on maxidot and some like things such as cornering fog lights activated (if fitted) etc.

What spec are you getting options etc?

u can do it (anti-hijacking) on the maxidot.....

That option isnt on my 10 month old VRS :(

^^^ Did you spec maxidot? it's not std on a vRS.

Cornering foglights

Large digital MPH display

Fog lights for CH / LH lights

Seatbelt warning dissabled

staging (needle sweep on ignition on)

Some things need to be activated before they will appear on the maxidot MFD settings.

yea I have maxidot didnt know you had to ask them to turn on additional settings to be available on the MFD :(

Large MPH is that not only available if they change it to Aussie mode? (keeping mine in line with EU legislation that kph is available and not via stopping car and plugging laptop in :p)

I ordered 2.0l petrol Vrs with dsg. Additional extras are xenon upgrade, phone prep and rear parking sensors

I ordered a dsg Vrs. So what other things need to be activated out of curiosity?

Ask for anything of the list posted that you want then check they have done it when your collecting and enjoy the new car feel :D I think mine left the factory this day last year or was it 27th

Once the country has been changed to Australia you do not need VCDS again to turn the KPH on or off, it is all then done on the maxidot

In that case add:

Front fog lights for CH / LH lights instead of xenon's

Telephone connection beep mute

to the above list

what's the difference between fixed and variable servicing , I'm a mechanic 12 years and never heard this!maybe it's a uk thing.

Fixed is every 10,000 miles. Variable uses long life oil (and possibly other things) and is err variable, but tends to be every 16,000-20,000 miles. Fixed services cost less, but obviously are more frequent. Variable tends to be better for people doing higher mileage.
