Featured Replies

Just recently i have noticed a whining sound coming through the speakers when i turn my wipers on, this happens both when playing a cd and radio!

Anybody had the same problem/ any ideas?

i have checked the forums with no joy

Standard Symphony unit or aftermarket unit?

Could be an earthing problem?

Symphony

unplug the aerial, and see if the noise volume changes. If you get little noise ,I would suggest as above the earthing of the radio,or the aerial is at fault. try connecting a separate earth connection from the radio outside metal case to a good earth point, such as looseing a small earthed bolt near to the radio ,and trapping the wire underneath .You could also try separately earthing the aerial earth connection at the aerial end .The problem may be the aerial. It has an amplifier built into the base, they are known to get water inside and corrode the electronics. In this case the amplifier may receive Medium wave signals poorly, but FM signals remain ok.
