Car dilemma

Featured Replies

I need some people's thoughts on my current dilemma.

I have a FL S4 on order which may take 6 months to arrive which means I will receive it outside the current good finance offer and if Audi don't extend it means I will have to pay loads extra for it.

In the meantime I have found a well spec'd S4 that I can buy now but it is the non-fl without the titanium alloys and doesn't have the small details of the FL or the efficiency. If I take this car I definitely qualify for the offer but I am getting a better spec S4 but older version.

Which option would you choose and why?

Thanks in advance.

Does that mean that if you commit to buy from Audi now, that if they don't deliver soon enough, you don't get the finance deal?

Surely if you sign a deal 'today', they must honour the financial side of it, when they actually build / deliver is their problem. I can't get my head round buying a car that might cost more depending on when they deliver.

Apparently this is how it is. Sounds stupid to me. They said if they don't continue the deal they will give me my deposit back.

I'd take them up on their offer and walk away.

There's no reason why you should pay too much for an older car or be expected to pay more for the new one when they are late delivering.

To make things worse when I went to see Audi they offered me a brand new RS3 as an alternative! I think I am going to try and ride it out and go for the factory order S4 and hope for the best.

Get them to honour the finance offer on the S4 you have on order, or walk away. And make plain that's what you're going to do.

I would also check out a few other dealers in the meantime, so see if this approach is across the board or just the dealer you're using.

I'd make/have made my order on the new car subject to said deal. Sorry if the horse has bolted on that one though.....

I called 15-20 dealers and they are all saying the same. Apparently it's the campaign or something. The lead times are just insane. The issue is common across the Audi forums and a lot of people in the same boat.

They did say that if the car will be outside of the date then they will try and source another from another dealer. Problem is how many S4's are there that aren't going to be snapped up.
