garry - no you don't.

as much as they've done to the VRS it will never ever escape the cutesy cake car looks.

even in black with black bits and a black roof with black trim

If i had to buy one of the current VAGs mini sporty vehhicles it'd be the Ibiza Cupra

MK1!

People might dissagree with me but i just hate the look of the mk2 fabias. They just dont look right in my opinion!

It's just come to me but there is a third way I hadn't considered until just now.

I could also get the MX5 turbo'd up...

About 3k for the privilege but it would take the Mazda from 158bhp to 250+.

It would be an insane car with a turbo.

The Mazda is a 57plate with just 18k on the clock with the electric hardtop,

hardly a mark on it and goes pretty well already. But it just isn't practical a lot

of the time. And it's pretty juicy already if you get your foot down so how would it be

with about another 100bhp??.

But are you not in some kind of car share with the mx5 if I remember reading it on here. With the mrs grr and someone else?

What would they say?

The extra 100bhp out of that would be insane!

Being an ex Mk1 ( remapped) Fabia owner, & having driven the MKII several times, I would take the MK1 any day.

While the DSG in the MkII is an amazing piece of engineering, thats exactly what it is.

SWMBO has a MKII 1.2, and while its a 'nice' car, its not NICE. The Mk1 was low & as a vRS was suited to this, the MKII is too tall to carry the vRS badge.

I did take another look at the Fabia, before buying the Octy, but the zero vat & finance was too good an offer to pass up at the time, otherwise i would have been tempted to go for a 105 Diesel Monte Carlo, specced up & then remapped to 130 as an alternative.

Yes I am and it wouldn't suit the other driver at the moment but I expect

the car to become fully mine before much longer if I'm being realistic.

Long long story, but in short Mrs Grr doesn't want to be involved with it

anymore as she's never driven it on the road only around Lidls car park

and frankly she doesn't like it. She prefers cars which drive themselves so

you'd need a grenade to get her out of the SDI, it's idiot proof.

So it's a 50/50 thing at the moment and the other person has a terminal illness

and has left me her share in her will. Sadly, we don't think she's got masses of

time left with us which is part of the reason the wedding was arranged in such a hurry.

I'd still quite like a mapped Monte Carlo as a toy - the misses is no good with gears hence me buying the vRS :)

She did ask why we need the fast one lol though :D
