I'm getting a squeaky actuator at mid revs. I've been under the car and pulled the vac hose off the actuator whilst my girlfriends revs the engine, and the squeaking stops. Is this a case of needing a new actuator or is there something I can do to fix mine? Thanks.

Is it the actual actuator unit or the arm that's squeaking? Wd40 would sort the arm out.

Not sure. I'll get it on the ramp and see if WD40 helps. Is it OK to just give it a good covering all over?

I'd probably just spray it on the arm to be honest mate and see what's what.
