Freeview Columbus TV

Featured Replies

As some of you know I have freeview working with the Columbus, or did

Turned on the unit this morning could hear the program that was on but nothing but a blue screen

Any ideas????, I have double checked all the connections and even changed the AV leads just in case

Both AV and freeview box lights on so power getting to them

does it use scart connectors?

Test your freeview tuner on another monitor/tv. First step is to identify whether it's that or the stereo input. Prey it's the freeview tuner!

No, I even did a reboot a couple of times just in case its the unit, tried a DVD and that works, just wondering if the Video feed (yellow lead), inside the box has gone

I need a better idea of your setup. Did you get one of those interfaces you plug in the back? What else you got hooked up ?

Got the right interface and one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160575242400&ssPageName=ADME:X:eRTM:GB:1123

Emailed the seller and they recon check the earth cable if the screen is blue , so will so that when I go out

And if the headunit you connected this box to ,will show any warning message or blue screen, you need to check the "brake shift control cable" of your headunit and make sure it has been connected earth.

Yeah I got one of those. Came today, just waiting for an interface for my bolero. Cant wait!

It has worked before though, so something's either come loose or blown. I'd still plug your freeview box in to a tv to check good output. Make sure you r not barking up the wrong tree. Then double check your connections.

silly question were do you get the interface?

Ebay.

Search for video input interface for RCD 510 for Bolero or RNS 510 for Columbus.

The one for Columbus just plugs on the back. The one for Bolero has to be fitted inside the stereo.

I haven't spoke to anyone who's done the Bolero one yet, so I'm waiting for mine to come and experiment!

Is there anything that can blow inside the interface, I did notice that the yellow video plug came out when I was moving the receiver to a better position, and I have checked the inline fuse

If you have tested the FV box and checked the connections, ask for a replacement.

Silly question, but has the interface got more than one input? If the plug came out, you sure you put it back in the right one? Might be worth trying the other inputs.
