Bolero versions

Featured Replies

Busy recoding all my iTunes m4a music into MP3 so I can use it in the new car (when we get it in two months) - yes I'm keen.

I've heard that newer Bolero's have a limit of 1000 files and the older ones could read up to 2000. This change may be related to the switch to Delphi for manufacture. I've now seen a few reports of Boleros made by Blaupunkt on newer cars.

Anyone know what's the latest and does the 1000 limit apply to all manufacturers? I'd like to chuck everything at the SD card (about 14Gb).

MDI option would have meant you could plug ipod in and control/ charge it from glove box I have my old 80GB ipod classic in car permanently. Just in case you were not aware of the MDI option and might consider adding it (not cheap though £150 ish option + cable)

I did know about MDI but was trying to keep costs down. I'm happy enough if I can get away with a couple of SD cards. Just be interested to know if the file limits are still at 1000 for the latest (Blaupunkt?) Boleros.

Do not know about how many files and limit. With my Bolero I use an 8GB SDHC card and it has 105 albums on in mp3 format and just loads up in a few seconds, no problem. My Octavia was built December 2011, would be interested to know which company made them.

This might help -

Sounds like the current manufacturer is Blaupunkt then. I wonder if there are any limits with them? I'd really like to be able to stick all my mp3's on one 16Gb SD card!
