Aaaagghhh - little yellow light.

Featured Replies

Been getting Betty all prepped for a 5.00am departure from home on Saturday to head down to the tunnel and across to the Alps for my ski holiday.

Today, Thursday, pottering around Bradford, a little yellow light with a symbol like the outline shape of an engine came on. I pulled over and checked the handbook which said something like 'exhaust system malfunction - drive slowly to nearest authorised dealer', which I've done.

I've had to leave the car with them (came home on the train and bus because they're busy and all their courtesy cars are out) while they investigate, and I'm hoping desperately that they'll be able to remedy the fault today or tomorrow so I can still go on holiday.

Come on DM Keith - (Bradford) make a name for yourself (please) so I can post on here how brilliant you are at coming to the rescue of a man in need.

Anybody got any idea what the problem might be?

Bummer. That happened every week with our Peugeot, was never properly resolved, and ended up costing us a grand. So when we got our Yeti we hoped we'd put all that behind us. Hope DMK fix it as that's where we got the car from !

Sounds like the dreaded DPF has yours regenerated recently?

Wrong light for DPF, and the kind of driving I do (lots of motorway miles, regular sustained high speed) that's not ever likely to be a problem. DM Keith have just 'phoned and said they think it's the "throttle inlet valve" and they hope to be able to get one and fix it tomorrow ... come on boys, you know you can!

Hi Bob,

talk about timing, at least you were not on you hols when it came on. Possible a sensor best guess would be the MAF in the air induction pipe.

Hope you get it sorted,

TP

Thanks TP ... got my fingers crossed ... and as you say better that it happens before I go away, and not half way up an Alpine pass.

Same light came on Hetti a few weeks ago. Just an exhaust sensor that was nothing to worry about - could have kept going till first MOT they said!! (It would need to be replaced in order to pass that!) Done on warrantee in 20 mins once they got one in.

That's very reassuring - thank you!
