Urgent Rear Brake Question

Featured Replies

I ended up getting my new rear pads and discs fitted by my local garage yesterday as I just wont have time to do it myself. But i've noticed this morning that the rear outside pads on both sides of the car are sitting about 4-5mm away from the disc even when the hand brake is applied? They dont even seem to be sitting flat (the rear is further away from the disc than the front? I'm sure this isn't right is it?

Please help before I go back to them.

Cheers

Doesn't sound right, but go and do some spirited braking ( on a quiet section of road ) just to make sure in not a simple bedding in issue.

Pump the brake pedal 20 or so times (hard) to ensure the pistons are pumped out properly.

Have you checked they have fitted vented discs? Only Vrs had vented rears as standard.

Good point, the vented discs are a good 5mm thicker than standard ones.
