Fabia Temp Warning

Featured Replies

Hi folks, can't seem to shift an annoyance with our 1.4mpi. A year or so back the expansion tank was changed to cure the temp warning repeatedly coming on. That pretty much did the trick until recently and oh joy the temp warning symbol is back on again, mostly on initial start. The level is fine in the tank and I don't want to keep having to replace it. Temp wise it runs normally. Any other ideas/plan of action would be welcome. Thanks.

what's happening coolant level wise mate? any sudden changes of level etc

Sound like the sensors corroded again if all levels are fine. should only be around £15 for a new expansion bottle

Thermostat in the housing on the passenger side of the engine block at the top! Known to fail also the housing fails.....so new thermostat and housing not to expensive and just requires refilling/bleeding the coolant system! B)

Hi, level tends to stay pretty constant but does have the tendancy to creep down over time. Maintaining at a max level doesn't seem to make much difference.

Thanks very much for that, it's a new idea for a persistant problem & as you say reasonably low cost.
