I'm going to be replacing the front ARB bushes prior to the MOT, I have some ramps I can use - is it ok to use these or is it best to take the weight off the wheels and use axle stands??

Take the wheels of pal n al n need is a 13mm socket they r the easiest thing in the world 2 replace but with out the wheels of u wont get in

Also you wil need to support the car on axle stands as on one side (can't remember which one) the driveshaft is in the way so you need to jack up the wishbone (under the ball joint) to allow it not to cover the ARB saddle clamp bolts!
