Collected SE Greenline this afternoon

Featured Replies

Collected this lunchtime after buying through autoebid.

The valet wasn't up to standard, all valeters had gone home half day on Saturday so they could not re-do the valet. There was some bird crap on rear pillar and the inside glass was terrible. The lad washing cars at the dealer hosed the bird crap off. Glad to get on my way in the end.

It drive soooo nice. I love the greenline gear change reminder it works really well. The colour (platin grey) is really nice in the reality.

I'm just getting up to speed with the owners manual so i'm sure the questions will follow :D

Is there anything on the SE that i will miss in the manual that I need to be aware of?

When should the wing mirrors fold in ? as they are not currently folding after I lock the car......

Wing/Door mirrors don't fold in by themselves, use the control knob on drivers door. It also controls heating and positioning.

Or alternatively, lock the car using the remote key fob. By holding the locking button down for two seconds, the door mirrors will fold automatically. Folding the door mirrors this way means you don't have to remember to turn the knob on the driver's door; the mirrors will unfold when you turn the ignition on.

Thanks chaps - so does the control switch inside the door need to be turned to the mirror symbol for the mirrors told fold via key fob?

I cant get them to go in using either methor at the moment?

Are they included in the SE spec?

Ray

Yes folding mirrors are on SE spec.

Once I set mine, I left the control know in the middle setting. It doesn't need to be on anything specific to have them operate via the key fob.

When you lock the car, simply keep the locked button for longer and the mirrors will fold in. If the puddle lights are on, these will kind of blink slightly before they fold in.

If you want to fold "manually" so to speak, simply turn the control knob to the top left setting and it will fold in. Think there are 5 positions - top left is fold, top right is heating, then three settings at the bottom - left mirror setting, neutral and right mirror setting. Although depending on how you have it setup in Maxidot - the right can adjust both mirrors.

One last thing to add, is that all the windows need to be closed. Page 71 of the current manual I think.

Hi CTS1975,Iam sure you will find lots of little things you did not know about in the next few days.I have just ordred an SE estate, and I was wondering what 17" tyres are fitted on your SE.I think they will be Cotinental 2.

Enjoy !!!

Yes, automatically folding door mirrors are present on my SE Greenline.

I don't think it matters where you position the mirror adjusting knob. I'd suggest holding down the locking button firmly for at least two seconds. I had to practice a few times before I got the hang of it.

Just tried holding my fnger on the fob and they did not close inwards.

Do they have to be activated in anyway?

Greenline has 16" alloys, the non-greenline SE version has 17" - mine came with Pirelli P7 from the factory

Shouldn't need to be activated?? When the car is running and parked up, does turning the control knob to the mirror position fold them in? If it doesn't would suggest there is an underlying problem which the dealer needs to investigate.

Well last night i tried turning the control to the 'mirror' symbol and the drivers side mirror twicthed a little then they both closed inwards.

They both now close normally with the key fob as well.

All a bit strange but seems ok now. Thanks for the help.

I spent 7 hours yesterday:

washing with Megs Gold

Decontaminating with Autosmart Tardis & Iron X

Claying with Bilt Hamber clay bar

Polishing with Autoglym SRP

Waxed with Collinite 476

Tyres Megs Endurance Gel

Also treated the windscreen to Gtechniq G1 and the seats to I1 protection.

I need to put some pictures up i suppose.

Ah, glad it's all working now!

Sounds like quite a session - I too have G1 and I1 - has the smell gone from the I1 yet, tends to linger for a bit.

Thread is useless with pictures you know!

Yep the I1 smels like a dead badger !!

The G1 didnt come off as easy as i thought though?

Will grab a few pics today mate.

If the Greenline was shod with 17" wheels, the ride would be quite harsh, especially as the lowered ride height makes the ride firmer than that of the standard car (S, SE & Elegance). The trade-off though is better aerodynamics and less body roll.

I have been surprised at how well it corners. It seem very low and planted in the corners add this to the active lights lighting up the apex aswell :giggle:

Serious detail. I take my hat off. All I could manage last weekend was a Valet Pro Snow Foam Ph Neutral pre-wash via hand sprayer, rinse with PW, followed by hand washing with AutoGlym Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner, rise again with PW and then dry with a PB drying towel.
