Rear cupholder in console

Featured Replies

Apologise if this has been covered before.....my owners manual shows a cupholder in the rear of the centre console, but when I checked my SE it has an ash tray fitted instead !?

Could the cup holder be retro fitted.

I haven't found one there, but if you fold down the backrest of the centre seat there is 2 there.

Thanks Llanigraham, yes I have found those ok. Page77 of my owners manual shows a cupholder in place of the ashtray, maybe the cup holder is only on the Elegance model

My Elegance has the 'ash tray' behind the jumbo box

It looks like it might be a market/country specific "thing" then.

I have vague memories that when ordering there was an option for a smoking or a none smoking vehicle (not referring to exhaust emissions either :-)) )

The question is then. Is there a part number that would enable us to turn jumbo boxes with ashtray into one with a cup holder?

I don't think I've ever used the Ashtray's in a car in 18 years of driving

See the thumbnail below for the extract from the manual

We keep a couple of packets of tissues in the "ash tray".

I think the smoking/non smoking option refers to a portable ashtray in the front (like a cup) and a lighter instead of a blank cap for the 12V.

I would also like to know the part number for this one. I do use the rear "ashtray" but only to store my Canary Wharf parking tokens in as well as my green wind-up Škoda flashlight I got at the Paris motor show a few years ago. They will still easily fit in this cupholder version.

My SE was ordered with the "non smoking pack". As far as I can see the only difference is that there is no cigar lighter!

When I queried what the "non smoking pack" was no one could tell me. That didn't really surprise as I'd already had the same response about "towbar prep". :wall:

I dont think that "bin" in the rear of mine is intended as an ashtrey as it's plastic and looks very flamable. It does however have a removable inner section that just clips out. The volume of the bin is a bit large for an ashtray as well, it looks as if it could store a few hundred butts. :giggle:
