Probably their VW Golf and Bora Petrol and Diesel Manual Apr 98 - 00 (R to X). I am going to buy their VW Golf and Bora 4 cyl Petrol and Diesel Manual 01 - 03 (X - 53) for my 2002 Octavia 4X4.

oil is easy, get a bucket and (i think) a 19mm spanner. jack the car up and put the bucket under the sump plug, undo and stay clear. when stopped leaking refit (do the fiter now too if your doing it) and re-fill.

pads are pretty straight forward, can't remember off the top of my head but faily obvious when your there.

not sure about the diesel but the petrol pollen filter is under the window trim on the passenger side

If you decide to change the rear pads you HAVE to wind back the piston/caliper as its on a thread and you will bugger it up if you dont have the correct tool.

on a related note, I contacted Haynes not so long ago who told me there were no plans for an Octavia manual because it has not sold in sufficient quantities.

Your joking !! i can understand for the VRS but other octy models surly have espcially the diesels

or do they not count taxis
