Featured Replies

Does anyone know if the CD Holder from and Ibiza will fit into the Fabia Vrs...i dont think im gonna get a Cd Autochanger so thought about getting this mod instead...I always choose this extra on the Seat Ibiza's ive had in the past....Just wondering if anyone has done it as opposed to the Cup Holder mod ?

I think DIN stands for

"Deutsche Industrie Norm"

Basically its a recognised standard that all conform to.

i.e a DIN sized headunit will fit in any DIN sized slot as they are all the same size.

DIN numbers are also given to automotive wiring, i.e 30 is a permanent live, 15a is ignition live, terminal 60 is a feed from and alternator etc.

Well I fitted the twin cup holders several months ago and if the CD holder is similar then it requires a lot of trimming to fit.

When I say fit, it fits in the aperture but it's not flush as the Fabia dashboard has a slight curve to it. It's not noticeable at a first glance but this soon bugged me so I whipped out the cup holders and swapped it with the elegance tray, which is designed for the car.

I don't know if this is entirely relevant but my Fabia Estate has the slide-out box under the radio, and it's not deep enough front-back to take CD's. Perhaps there is some wasted space behind it.

I think it will be deep enough ...just worried about the words 'trimming to fit'...i know from the Ibiza that the Cd Holder sticks out of the gap anyway ! Just wondering now if it will look out of place....? Anyone got pics of the cup holder install just to give us some confidence in these types of installs ?

It's why I have a cd changer. Stick some new ones in every once in a while and when Mrs comes along she can do the other changing ;)

The "slot size" should remain the same but the depth of the available space may be restricted - since different DIN components are different depths
