Heated washer jets?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Back with more questions. As I do a lot of driving in winter and it gets pretty cold being slap bang on the Pennines, I was wondering if heated washer jet nozzles were possible on my Fabia Estate? I've seen heated jets on certain parts websites, but no idea which, if any would fit. Would they need anything else as well as the nozzle?

Sorry can't answer this one specifically but I beleive it came as standard on the elegance so a retrofit can't be that hard ? Personally for the few weeks a year it's an issue I make sure I use the correct concentration of good quality screen wash, the cheap stuff is about as much use as blue food colouring when it's into minus double figures a bit like cheap de-icer, a false economy, the stuff that's rated to -35c etc is what you want.

I have the Elegance model, I wouldn't know how to check if they were present though  I wonder if they would have an electrical feed going to each unit?

As for the washer fluid, I think your probably right. I use the cheap stuff from the petrol stations, so I'm not helping my situation really am I. I've seen the Skoda/VW wash that goes down to -75 supposedly! Am I right in thinking that we need special fluid on the Fabia as they are fan jets and cheap fluid can block the nozzles?

I have so many questions, sorry :giggle:

They do have a wire going into each nozzel

Well I just failed. I didn't realise the jets were built in to the scuttle panel, I just assumed they were on the bonnet like my old car. So I can't actually see, oh well, they look like they'll be a little more insulated there anyway, so may not have as much problems as I did before.

As above dude just use good quality screen wash at high concentration. Over winter I had no issues at all with mine.
