Anyone got rid of their vrs and why

Featured Replies

Got rid of my VRS as I didn't like the look of it that much, and all the little things that kept going wrong plus oil usage apart from that a great little car.

May have a look at the Mk3 in a few years when one comes out.

Eh ? If I thought that about mine, I certainly wouldn't think it's a 'great little car' :giggle:

Yeah, get what you're saying. Like the Mazda MX5. Great to drive, but still looks like a girls car ;)

Love the bit out of Fast and Furious where they smoke the Ferrari in the Toyota Supra they recovered from the scrap heap.

The Fabia 2 VRS's goofy looks are part of its charm.

VAG diliberately make all Skoda's goofy looking as not to detract from Audi, SEAT or VW sales. It is part of what Skoda is.

Revel in the odd looks and enjoy the fact you get VW engineering for 20% less than the other VAG cars.

Some motoring press say the Fabia has the better ride etc than the Ibiza and Polo GTIs.

The 1.4 Twincharge was voted year after year as the best engine below 1.5 litres until the Fiat twinair came along and I am not sure it should have been unseated by that.

Think you're getting confused with the amount of oil the engine uses weekly .....

I know what you mean has the thing about being classed as a girls car or a old mans car but then I am getting on in years so fit the bill well, the the fabia is also know as an old persons car but this is just what other people think. by the way jonny boy your car dose look a bit special think it is the colour and the wheels not being black and lowered looks ace.

Cheers Curs !

Of course, tongue in cheek about the MX5.

My mates got one and they are fantastic to drive.

Just that he's always giving me stick about the VRS so he gets it back

Starting to consider it now, citroen c3

Appreciate the issues that you are currently experiencing with your vRS, but at least it should be fixed, and properly when done, but seriously a French car?

Not a vrs but got rid of mine, bye bye skoda hellooooo VW

French cars aren't that bad...brands and stereotypes :wonder:

Hi Curs, hope your missus has a sense of humour.

If I published for eternity (like you have bravely done) similar comments about SWMBO then emigrating off-planet would still only buy me the time it took for her to hire a rocket!

To answer your question. My VRS2 has gone as I needed a bigger back seat for the kids to vomit on, and a larger carpeted area for them to tread dog poo into.

The Castrol execs have already been on the phone asking why I've cancelled my monthly 45gallon order of Edge.

Renault Sport are brilliant, everything else french is crap

The Eiffel Tower is nice.

The Eiffel Tower is nice.

Its a magnificent piece of engineering, like their cars. No really.

And its electrical system is well creaky and high maintenance, like, well yeah. Run one, then decide.

Lets move back on topic and not discuss how brilliant RenaultSport cars are... :giggle:

Oil was an issue and I'm not surprised people sold theirs as a result of it. Luckily mine went away even though I still don't know away. Everything else was flawless in the car.

It wasn't the best track or 'fast' car but it's not meant to be.

I still think it's a great drive despite what people say. Keeps momentum very well which is what I like a car to do. Even some fast stuff you have to constantly be on the throttle but this you don't and flows very well. Sure it's not the stiffest of setups but again not meant to be but can easily be improved if you want it
