Anyone know how to remove the gearknob and gaitor on a Fabia, I have one on order from the dealer out of the latest Fabia accessories catalogue. The guy in the parts dept said its easy but fiddly :confused:

The gaiter base is plastic, and clips into the centre console. Flex the rim a bit and it should unclip. At the gear knob end of the gaiter is a metal clip which is a pig to remove and will likely get destroyed - in which case use a cable tie when you re-assemble it.

Great! Thanks, the new one came with a new brass ring but to be honest its firm enough without it so I have reassembled the lot as it is. It was a pig to remove the od one though, a lot of screwdriver leverage and perseverance.
