Brakes are driving my up the wall

Featured Replies

Hey guys my brakes recently have become extremly squeeky!!! ive had the MOT and service very recently and there were no issues with brake pads being warn, which leads me to think that there may be a lot of brake dust hanging around. would you suggest getting some break cleaner and spraying it over the brake disc and the assembly ect ect?

many thanks james

spray on is OK in it's place but you can't beat a strip check and clean --maybe one side is sticking a bit

AS he says ( above ) . I had this with mine and after taking it all to pieces and then wire brushing brake cleaner and plenty of copper grease on the backs of the pads and where they sit in the carrier did the trick. If you do this make sure that you check both sliding pins on the caliper. I ended up freeing up one of mine as it had very little movement in it at all! Remove any rust/ crap around the lip !

Good Luck

Does anybody know what the slider pin's are like on the front calliper's?I seem to think I have a wrong one fitted on the front? Are they both smooth as I have one which is splined and it seem's to be sticking slightly sometimes
