Order Yeti with new optional coloured roofs

Featured Replies

Yeti S, SE, SE Plus and Elegance models will be available to order with an optional black, white or silver roof from 5 March.

Prices

This option costs £390, in addition to the price of the body paint:

  • Flat colour vehicle with coloured roof: £390
  • Metallic colour vehicle with coloured roof: £850

Bloody hell, £850 for Metallic and roof colour.

I'd put money on it that it would be cheaper to wrap the roof (and gain extra protection).

You can get the rof wrapped in a colour of your choice for about £200-£300 I'd imagine.

And you also have the benefit that if it looks cack in the metal (rather than great in your mind) you can take it off. :)

What a REDICULOUS price!!!!!!!!!!

So even if I wanted it I will wrap it even on a brand new Yeti I'm afraid. This also gives owner number two the choice to take it off or for me to change my mind at some point.

Now Richard: please tell me you are going to wrap your Yeti's roof in black and your wife's in white for some distinction!!!!! :giggle:

It's OK, she has a sunroof. I can tell from above. ;)

Ah!!! So there IS a difference! hehehe (Apart from engines and brakes of course!)

So SHE should get the black roof wrap to match the roof.

On the topic of a coloured roof, I have to say I'm actually not a fan.

To me the styling of the Yeti is better with one colour as the wrap around front and rear screens with only the B-post to join from the body to the roof looks better.

But that's just me.

Johann, I decided against the sunroof as my car is going to do a lot of miles, go offroading etc... (my wife has done 40 miles in 11 days...)

Possibly wrongly, but I thought no sunroof would long term give me less squeaks and rattles from flexing doing 20k miles per year.

In my Land Rover days I lost count of the number of times branches etc... landed on the roof!

Fair enough. I want to do off roading but nothing as serious as branches falling on my roof! Hehehe

As to coloured roof. I like a black roof on a white Yeti. I think a black roof will look good on my Steel Grey but deep down know that in doing so you disguise the lovely race helmet black wrap around glass front and back. But by doing so you accentuate the distinctive B-pillar. I'll live without it too.
