Vrs with no climate?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

Looking for a Vrs to replace mine that was burned out, and I have come accross this one http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649 but on the photos it looks like it doesn't have the digital climate control I thought all Vrs's had it????

Any one know if this is correct?

Simon

Nope, up to about 57/08 it was an option.

(the f*ckers)

I was wondering if it could be retro fitted to the older cars. I have the old manual switches but have thought about seeing if it was possible to do.

Its an early vRS so not only does it lose the climate but it is also missing the arm rest / jumbo box / AUX-in, rear electric windows and gets 17" instead of the 18" zenith alloys - and is worth less as a result (oh and its ex Royal Mail red too :giggle: )...

Prohibitively expensive seemingly, would be cheaper to buy an equivalent car with it already installed.

Ok will walk away from this one then!!!

Not because of the colour though!!!

Simon

All the Irish vrs,s came with climate from 06 on :)

Looks like its the poverty model. Not many, if any options fitted. And a naff colour too.

i like the post office red colour

Is the dealer not trying to find you one, sorting one out for you??

Only if your called Pat :giggle:

Here - less of it with the colour.. :swear:

(cough, got a red one, cough)

Looks very nice when it's polished, I'll have you know

(grumble, grumble, solid colour...something about fading paint, etc..)

Climate is definitely worth having though & should be a good bargaining point if you can live without .

Not sure how things are going to work out yet so checking whats out there, I get the cheque from my insurance in the next couple of days and the dealer has asked for the loan car back. I am now in a Corsa hire car provided by my insurance company but looks like I have to give this back on Friday so need to find a replacement asap. Going to go and talk to the dealer on Thursday so should know better then. I still not sure if the insurance company are going after the dealer!!!!

Looks good but a bit too far away from Harrogate.

Simon

But 3 grand cheaper and LOW milage!

It's got to be worth travelling for the right car surely?

@ Matt - Retro fitting Climatronic is a massive undertaking, it's not just about the controller, all the ducting has to changed, it involves the entire dash area coming out!!! :o

My VRS hasn't got a jumbo box/climate control. Not too bothered about it to be honest, and probably eats more fuel anyway! And I go through a lot as it is - damn right foot!

On the plus side, I do have 18" wheels.

I don't think the climate stuff should be a deal breaker.
