I have a Superb Estate in Amethyst.

It looks different according to the light - in the sun ity looks most purple (subtle though) on a grey day it looks duller.

I'll tell you what color beats black. It's the new Magnetic Brown. It will look black in dimmed lights, but has a fantastic shade of brown in lighter conditions.

I will take some pictures this weekend for you as I have an Estate in Amethyst Metallic - there is one in my media, but it is difficult to get the real colour to show up in a photo but I have been meaning to take some and will make the effort ths weekend inside (Ivory/Black) and out.

I quite agree! I think the Superb is a great looking car, but not quite sure what colour to go for as a replacement for my Anthracite Grey Hatchback. Not a great fan of Black or White, as I've had both these colours before. Just fancy a change!

This is the first picture I took of my car whilst at the dealers and currently it is the one that shows the colour best. I will clean car this weekend and put some better quality pictures up for you.

Here's a shot of my TwinDoor 1.8 in amethyst purple. Not the greatest image quality but I suppose it gives you an idea of what it might look like when the weather is crappy.

Thanks everyone, I've got a good idea what it looks like now, unfortunately the one I was looking at getting did not come within my company car budget so have had to have a re-think.
