Felicias in killer kielder this weekend

Featured Replies

Me and Mr fruitbat will be taking our skodas through the woods on saturday at The Border Counties rally based in Jedburgh, the scottish borders.

Taking in 5 stages to the north of kielder in some of rallyings most famous stages of ye old RAC days.

Any one out spectating be sure to give us a wave, james will be car 131 and myself car 132..

Look forward to seeing you saturday james , pretty sure once the rally starts i wont see you for dust ( or mud )

Hi, sounds like a great event, hope the weather holds for you. Would be nice to see some piccys of the felicias in action?

Hi Dave,

Looking forward to meeting you too - it's always nice to see other Felicias out on the stages.

I'm really looking forward to the event - I've rallied on the Otterburn tarmac quite often, and done the Jim Clark twice, but this is my first forest event in that part of the world - something I've always wanted to do.

Just a few bits and pieces to do on the car - I popped out and spanner checked it and bled the brakes in the last two hours of daylight today - should just be tidying up and a good wash needed now.

cheers

James

kielder killed my felicia...

1st stage roll down a gulley ended the day rather quickly...both ok but the car is worse for wear.

Nice to meet you james and pleased your day was better than mine !

Nice to meet you too Dave.

We spoke to the crew of the Fiesta who said they had seen you roll in front of them - what happened?

I've never driven in Kielder before, but it was like walking on a tightrope compared to rallying in the Yorkshire forests - those big ditches made the road feel about a foot wide, and there were so many changes of surface - some hard, some gravel, some sandy mud - probably the most difficult event I've done.

cheers

it was a tight right , looks like i cut the corner too tight and front bumper dug in and sat us up on the front of the car...did a 180 degree flip and fell back onto the roof in the ditch.

was about 8 foot below track level and thankfully the stream was'nt deep ! We are both ok, worse thing was having a wet bum ..

the car however looks worse for wear, and i agree about the surface-soon as you got used to the grip levels it changed.

pleased you got through to the end james

Sounds like a fun event.. Sorry to hear of your off track soiree, is it a total loss or is it going to be repaired?

i have most the panels needed in stock , perhaps a roof skin would be handy.

Luckily it is only panel damage ( and wallet damage )

What about the big dent in your pride :wonder:

it's only metal though at the end of the day.. < damn that sounds so cliche.. I've never even looked at how the roof skin will come off a felicia before, I bet it's not a 5 minuite job for sure... Probably a few dozen spot welds and a crate of kronenburg should get it off
