belt or chain?

i hav 2007 0cty vrs. i was previously told by a skoda dealer it had a chain instead of timing belt. rang today and told it has a belt so needs changing-£525 including water pump....ouch!

can anyone tell me if this sounds right? its aTFSI not a TSI

Yep it's a belt.

Whether you want to get the belt changed now then that's your call. Skoda UK say 4 years now although there are those who debate this.

How old is ur car or what milage are u at? I think the petrol is due at 50k

Belt.

Was due at 4yr or 60k.

I had mine done with the water pump at an indy for £320.

VW will do it for £400 so I'd tell them to shove £525 where the sun don't shine.

4yr service is also a biggie so check it's all been done (all filters and brake fluid)

cheers-its done 71k so needs doing. Awesome will do it for a much more reasonable price.
