It is what Skoda UK say though and that's the opinion that counts.

yawn.

As per the pic you posted, they haven't notified me so until they do its 120k.

This is how a court would read it any day of the week.

/endof

As I said they'll notify you when you take it in and your car is closer to being four years old.

OK then Judge JRW, night.

And as has been said, i am under no obligation to take my car in to a Skoda dealer but they are obliged to notify me of any changes as per your pic of the 'disclaimer'.

Telling me at 4 years is also too late if you need to budget this in.

If it changed 4 years ago then why isn't it in the book? why didn't they tell me when i bought the car? I presume it was 4 years in April 2010?

....Actually, i don't even know why i am wasting my energy on posting this as clearly you are right. :wall:

Me neither, you have it in your head Skoda UK are conspiring against you and trying to mislead you.

Despite being told (not just by me) your vRS's cambelt should be changed at 4 years you simply won't accept it instead looking for excuses as to why if it does fail and you haven't changed it you can get Skoda to pay for it.

Good luck with that one!

BORING

SUK haven't told me, WHAT PART OF THAT DO YOU NOT GET?

You even posted the 'disclaimer' stating that they should notify me of any changes, they haven't, its 120k.

None of my questions have been answered either as to why its magically 4 years only in the UK and no where else in the world.......conveniently.

Thanks for wishing me luck, but i don't need that, i have the service book in B&W, the SOGA and the small claims court on my side, should i ever need it.

Just change the god damn can belt!

Skoda UK don't need to answer it, they've decided on four years. Who cares what Skoda do in other markets, it doesn't affect us.

They will, when you book it in for the service before its fourth birthday.

Just change the god damn can belt!

I will in 90k miles time

Can you show us that in writing please?

If not then that's the end of the argument. You spend £400 every 4 years, I'll spend £200 every eight.

It's currently sat on the service desk of my local dealer, and as it is a Skoda document it is more than likely in yours too, why don't you do what every one else has done and contact Skoda to hear it for yourself?

Because I don't want too, I wouldn't take a broken clog to them! Both I and Jrw have it in writing that it's mileage based, you say otherwise so please provide it in writing.

Jesus pal, it's not me it's Skoda UK. Don't shoot the messenger!

The 'evidence' you so desperately crave is scattered throughout this forum, on the end of a phone or an email away.

You simply don't want to believe.

Spot on that's fair enough, we'll leave it there then. Thanks.

:bandit: Is it over?...

I hope so ; )

I think the thread title change encompassed it well enough lol.

Annoyingly I didn't take a measurement off the trip before I pulled the battery to do the radio so I don't know exactly how much I've done since I filled up. I THINK I was at around 100-120 miles, I'm now at 220 and the trip says I have a range of about 45 miles. That puts me at about 375 ish for a tank. Will be recording it all properly when I refuel this week as It'll be interesting to see how it changes.

Far more importantly, I managed to get out of the congestion charging zone before I had to pay this morning saving me £9!

Well DBT85, you have had the car now for a couple of months, hows it going for you ?

I am very pleased with it. All of my friends and family think the car is great and even more so for the money. Skodas rep has gone up in a few peoples eyes now after seeing this.

I'm averaging 32.5MPG which is mostly town driving, half in little to no traffic and half in busy enough to annoy you traffic. This morning for instance I got 40MPG on the short 6 mile drive from my house to my parents at 6 in the morning. The roads were clear and I stayed on cruise at 35 indicated. On my way home tonight I'll probably only get 30.

On Saturday I drove 20 miles to work again at 6 in the morning and of course the roads were fairly quiet and I managed 41MPG, on the way home in the very busy traffic that went down to 28.

So from that point of view alone I'm happy, it's matching/beating the Focus and it's a much nicer journey and I can have more fun in it if I want.

As for the rest of it, the wife love the heated seats, I love the front and rear sensors being displayed on the Columbus, I use cruise a lot, auto lights are nice, I wish the wing mirrors folded in whenever you lock the car rather than needing an extended press, cornering fogs are great in my country lanes, the boot is freaking HUGE.

When you give it throttle it feels like it just keeps on pulling and pulling as it'll rev all the way round, but it's also quiet and smooth sitting in 7th at 43MPH and 1250RPM.

Downsides are only really road noise which I think could be better, however I think some of that is down to some sawtoothing on my rear tyres. I'll not know for sure until I swap them over. Road noise is a fairly well talked about issue on the car though. It could probably be damped somewhat with a couple of hours and some sound proofing material.

I honestly couldn't be happier. Now I just have to pay for it!

Delighted your getting on so well with the new wheels :-) fuel consumption is pretty good for around town traffic driving.

as for the road noise, if thats your biggest worry your doing alright ;-)
