VCDS Scan

Featured Replies

Did a VCDS scan earlier and found a few fault codes. I have done a bit of research about what each one means but wondered if there are any obvious things to check to rectify the faults.

Any info appreciated.

Cheers

I'd clear them, and scan again in a while, see what's returned. They're the ones to worry about.

No idea off hand on how to fix them - the Ross-Tech website is a good place to try if you haven't already.

Intermittent are usually just that. The A/C one was probably triggered by the low voltage dip which brought up the other two. It does sound like a back speaker is dead / not connected though.

Thanks for the replies. I did as suggested and cleared the codes and immediately the Air/con and Speaker faults returned and I am pretty sure the air con wasnt getting too cold and it was re-gassed a month ago.

Anyway I cleared the codes again and went for a 20 minute blast and then scanned again.

Now the aircon fault hasnt returned and it seems to bee getting cold so I am guessing thats the intermitent part.

The speaker fault is still there but I am not so concerned about this at present.

However on the last scan 5 minutes ago it bought up 01598 code again but with a different description.

I am thinking that this fault is the root cause for the other intermitant faults I am getting.

Any help really appreciated.

Alternator sense wire or a battery on it's way out!

Thanks for the really quick reply.

Bought the car in October and seller said battery is new (looks new too) so I think I can rule that out.

Will check the sense wire I think thats pretty common as I have seen it mentioned in a few posts.

Would this be the wire your refering to just so I am looking at the right part

That's the very fellow!

Almost a given that it'll break at some point!

Had a look this afternoon and there doesn't appear to be a break on the wire but I need to have a better look.

However there is a brown connector located very near the black connector of the Sense wire and one of these is broken, anyone know what this brown connector is for.

Cheers
