I have found a thread on how to remove them but then got me thinking how to cover up the area where they used to be, I have seen loads of cars with a trim that runs the length of the roof which covers the holes and mounting points, do Skoda provide one if the roof rails were to be removed.

I think they not only spoil the look of the car but also must cause more drag and seeing as I have no intention of using them ever I would like them gone.

Hope someone can help, there are not an awful lot of answers using the search function.

Think an estate would look odd without the rails. See if there are any photos out there or ask someone to photoshop it for you before you take the plunge!

I dont think it would, I think it would make it look a little less of a family car and more towards a sleek hatch.

I have seen one on here, it was silver and the guy was restoring from a crash or something, among other stuff he removed the roof rails, it look very good.

I have just had a proper read through and it looks like there arent any gutters on the ocatvia roof so looks like a trim wont be the answer, only option looks like a plug or fill and respray.

I wondered would the roof bars off the Audi A4 avant fit? the roof profiles look very similar and I think the closer coupled bar would suit the look of the octavia.

Take them out and get them painted grey (wheel type)
