Headlight not working

Featured Replies

Hi,

The passenger side headlight (dipped beam) and the small light has stopped working. I think its a lose connection somewhere because a few weeks ago it stopped working and I bought a new bulb and was about to fit it when it suddenly started working while I was removing the back cover. Now they don't work at all (bulbs are fine) - full beam, fog and indicator works on that side. I have tested the earth (ok) and the fuses look ok so I am left with a relay problem, switch or faulty wiring.

I would like the remove the headlight unit but my Haynes manual says that I should put the car up on axel stands and remove the front bumper which is a bit too much bother for me. Is this true or could the bumper be removed or loosened a little to allow the headlight unit to pull out without going to this trouble?

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave

I removed mine when repairing the lower boost hose on the intercooler - didn't remove the bumper but did loosed about half the torque screws along the top and eased it back - a bit fiddly and had to be be careful not to bend the metal.

good luck
