Hi could someone tell me whether the octavia uses a cambelt or chain ? Which years model engine etc ?

I have a primera at the moment and looking for a diesel octavia, but i like the fact that my primera is bombproof and uses a chain.

As far as I know, all the diesels use a cam belt including the face lifted ones.

The petrols use a chain

My dealer told me the 1-8 TSI is chain cam

Pretty much bob on now yeah aside from the 1.6 MPi

The older FSI petrol engines mostly have belts. What are you looking at?
