Got a tracker fitted

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've got a tracker in my car left over from an ikube insurance policy, and they have told me they don't want it back.

SO my question is, can it still be used as a functioning tracker? if so, who turns it on or has control of it? Do they need codes?

It wasn't an insurance where they track your driving, just a red hours one -infact they said it was the same GPS tracker thats normally fitted to expencive cars for tracing the car if its stolen, and that was a selling point of the insurance.

So would this still work as a car tracker if the car got stolen? Its all still wired in, I just don't know who/if there is anyone who could turn it on if the car did get stolen

Cheers

Why would you want your car back if it got stolen?

Would I not want it back, then?

No as it'll probably be in bits or damaged. Plus, if you don't have the installation certificate it'll not lower your premium.

As for who to call to activate it, I'd try the company that paid for it to be fitted.
