Questions about the TV tuner.

Featured Replies

I guess there aren't many out there with the TV as it only seems to be available as part of the L&K pack and not as an option.

But some questions for anyone that may know:

1. Can you receive the freeview radio stations as well as the TV? If so is reception any good? I like a sation that's not on FM, but is on DAB and Freeview radio.

2. Has anyone succesfully retrofitted the TV? I assume it's a separate box that fits somewhere in the car. If so, where did it go, how much did it cost, and were the aerials there already? I want to fit to an estate so guess the antennas are different and the location of the TV unit might be too.

You need an AV connector that plugs into the back of the Columbus, a freeview box that sits under the ashtray the ariel comes with the freeview box rout it through the drivers side gearbox panel and out through the off side rear door, you will need a switch live for the freeview box and a auto electrician to wire up the AV connector to the columbus wiring harness

I got mine done here http://www.parkmyauto.co.uk/audi-aud-utvs1-nav-navigation-plus-car-digital-dvb-t-freeview-tv-tuner-antenna-upgrade-kit-1010-p.asp

Can you get the radio stations that were asked about skippy?

It all depends how you receive your freeview, if your in a main mast area you will receive all of them that are available on freeview, if you receive your signal from a relay mast you will only receive some of them, you will receive all the bbc ones and a few others cannot remember what they are some are rock or commercial stations

Thanks for the reply.

I have one of the aftermarket freeview tuners in my Rover. I hadn't really thought about it as a way of putting TV on the Superb when I get it. I was really asking about the original equipment one as being a brand new car I want to see if I can sensibly fit the proper stuff.
