LED Footwell Lighting

Featured Replies

Having done LED Boot Lighting I decided that LED foot well lighting was the next step - but I wasn't prepared to spend the same amount of money on the same units as used in the boot, so simply decided to use some W5W LED's I already had.

These were canbus compatible from autobulbsdirect.co.uk so a bit over spec'd!

Here's one side has been done -

and with the overhead lights on (again LEDs)

And complete

Looks really nice :)

Btw, is it the same bulbs in the "foot lamps", as it is in the roof? And underneath the front seats?

All "in cabin" lighting apart (from the ones above the sun visors) and those in the door lights are 501 (W5W) wedge lamps, ie

However, these give out light all round, and so use the fittings reflectors to direct that light.

For the front reading lights I used these, to give maximum light output while still keeping to roughly the same sized unit (there are some with more LEDs but they are longer) -

In the rear I used these -

And under the seats, these (OK they are over kill as they have CanBus resistors in, but I already had them) -

In my Octy II I did try these -

But they are not really up to the job!

Wow look at the price of them from autobulbs!

I fitted these in the tailgate, door mirrors and footwell lights and and they give off ample lighting.

(mine were bought from a different Chinese? eBay seller)

I used the left hand LEDs for the roof and footwells and the flat uni-directional LEDs for the tailgate.

Phil

I have exactly the same ones as phil and they are great, cheap as chips too
