Vrs- Is there a link between bhp and torque?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Hopefully someone with some technical knowledge can help.

Is there a direct link between bhp and torque figures from these engines?

As you know standard bhp is 130 and torque is 229ftlbs, so if there is it works out at 1.76ftlbs per bhp.

If my theory holds any relevance if I am lookin to up the power to 210bhp I can go to 369.92ftlbs torque?

Is this right or am I overthinking things?

Power = torque (lbsft) x RPM / 5252

So you'll need 275lbsft at 4k rpm.
