Octimus Prime...

Featured Replies

Thought it was about time to pop some photos of Octimus Prime up, my Admiral Blue L&K 130 estate.

Bought this car in November 2011 and it was a bloody shambles. One Xenon headlight not operational, duff central locking, odd starting problems, poor economy, non-existent CD changer.

Fast forward to now, 5,000 miles later (!!), and she's working like a champ.

Then:

Outside:

- removed the dildo-like towbar

- Cupra R splitter

- black grille surround & mesh grille

- 6000k Philips Xenon upgrades

- damn good polish, got loads of scratches out!

- vinyl wrapped the chrome boot garnish at the back

- vinyl'd the horrid red bits on the rear lights, cut holes for the indicators & reverse lights

- custom PastyBoy badges front and back

- debadged completely except for L&K side motifs & Skoda badges!

Inside:

- Alpine iDA X-100 head unit

- Vibe Slick A1 amp

- InPhase coaxials front & rear

- JBL Power Series 10" sub in a custom-built & carpeted box

Engine:

- Dragon Digital tuning box

- Pipercross panel filter

It's been a busy few months. Next stop: decat, S3 Recaro interior, uprated side-mount intercooler & a decent remap.

Enjoy!

Looking really good.

rear lights look very "U.S spec" from a distance. its a lovely colour too.

Cheers guys :) the lights are a bit of a prototype at the moment, they're a bit rough. Got tonnes of anthracite vinyl though! Not sure whether to extend the vinyl so it creates a red-grey-red block effect with the lights. Might tint the indicator and reverse slats too. Front lights I'll do so may as well use any leftovers :)

Decat should be this week. Excite. :D

Looking good Bud.

Sorry, only just saw this! I got mine from a member here. Cost £25 instead of the £50 you'd be expected to pay for a new one!! Just keep searching.

Been a loooong time since last update... but finally, one of note. Bought and sold a SeatSport intercooler, simply because it was going to be a nightmare to get fitted. Have got the typical Turborevs one waiting in the wings for a suitable time to fit. Couple of weeks ago I finally did something about my interior- as nice as the standard seats are, I knew I wanted a little more side support. Narrowed it down to S3 Recaros or Golf V6 4Motion Recaros. Ended up with the VW option- wasn't that keen on the S3 ones when I tried them. Love the VW ones. Bought them with a popped airbag on the driver's side at £190 for all the seats and doorcards, got a new airbag for a tenner and then had the seat stitched locally for the princely sum of £40. Amazing service, and I'm really happy with the end product.

Sorry for the slightly **** photos, but I got them after a long day working... there should be better ones tomorrow.

So, next up, find new driver's side wing mirror that's electric & heated to replace the one someone smashed (check out the underside of it), fit the SMIC, get my grubby mitts on some vRS side repeaters and replace the ****y doorlocks I have (bouncing driver's side rear door, broken light switch inside passenger door).

It's a long road but I'm getting there. Still love driving this car. :)

Really liking the interior dude! Lovely looking seats :-)

Let me know how you get on with the intercooler
