I like the noise my exhaust makes but....

Featured Replies

.......Id like it a little louder and a little 'throatier'.....and I dont want to end up with your stereotypical boy racer eqs back box and pipe like folk used to have on their Nova SRI's....

suggestions for a subtle improvement anyone?

I'm glad I'm not the only one... Maybe a silencer removed from the back box?

Remove the centre section for cheap sound improvement and to keep the OEM look

Honestly no idea but the first of the 2 videos sounds nice :)

Its definetly louder but my mates that have herd it from outside have said its "loud but not boyracer louder" plus the gear changes sound fecking awesome if u short shift jyst after 4000rpm :D

I take it that's yours then? Where you based? (I'm on mobile)

Yup and west lothian/falkirk area in scotland

Or coatbridge area at weekends...... Not sure how much longer thatl be for thought :giggle:

Shame would love to hear it in person...

You got any more videos?

I had a few from inside the car but i deleted them to make room on my phone. Iv got another video on youtube of it revving when its hot but i was only revving slightly as i didnt want to anoyy the neighbours too much :(

Could you link your YouTube channel? Or add me on YouTube? (evilmiyagi)

No idea how todo either of those on my phone my username is skodyvrs so add that if thats anyhelp :)

Sorry to sound a little 'old' guys, but the noise inside at motorway speeds can drive you mad after 10 minutes. Did the performance exhaust thing with my Fiesta ST and regretted it from day one. Full Milltek. Ended up soundproofing the boot and rear passenger floor.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for boy racer db levels... I just want it to sound out in a crowd without being stupid

I'm looking at a resonated Jetex exhaust-cat back. What you reckon that will sound like? Too loud on motorways? or ok? but punchy, because of the resonated section?

Center silencer removal is good. mines currently in the shed as i have a nice Miltek now :) Miltek is quite loud so others prob will be aswell depending on what size bore they use.

So was I

Difficult to 'try before you buy' though. The Miltek I had wasn't 'noisy' by any means (you know, compared to the obviously silly ones) sounded great in normal conditions, but the longer journeys were tiresome.

i have the rear silencer removed from mines with my varex. it has a nice grunt to it especially when changing at 5k theres a great exhaust fart XD

im looking at getting the middle removed too as i can close up the varex on long journeys to loose any drone.

Milltek do a resonated and non-resonated back box so the non-res will be louder/boomier. Had one on my old Ibiza FR, was very good :)
