Piper 0 Silencer Owners

Featured Replies

So it's been a good few months since the piper systems started rolling out, so owners now have some experience of living with them.

I'm just wondering how you find the sound in the cabin? Does it drone on motorways? Have you had any grief from the law or MOT testers?

My mouse is hovering over the buy button but I do motorway miles through the week so don't fancy a big drone all the time but certainly don't mind loud when you give it some!

Where are you looking at buying it from? I'm thinking about the 1 box system.

They're being sold through eBay, direct from piper or ali in unit 18 but he's a bit far from me! What's the cheapest

I've seen a video of one with the 1 silencer and that sounds great. On my buying list now :-)

Well I've ordered one so we'll see soon!

One box on the black one

i have a full system from turbo back with no silencers and i have had mixed responses from it, it doesnt drone on the motor way which is always positive

I have a turbo back and a tiny back box its silent on the motorway. Only loud under load.

One box on the black one

For sound comparison, is the SE running a Milltek?

I've got no cat and a Piper 0 box exhaust on mine, it's loud outside the car but I don't remember it droning on the motorway

Did anyone notice any performance gains once this system was fitted? Gets a great write up and a good few bhp increase?

I think the press release of +17bhp was very cleverly worded.

The before graph was never shown, they claimed 17bhp over the standard car figure of 130bhp not the initial dunno run!

As we all know a BLT to put out 147ish standard isn't unheard of, however I didn't buy this for a 17bhp increase, I bought it to allow me to gain 25-30bhp mapping my hybrid!

I have a dyno of exactly what my car is running at the moment so when I go for the map I'll have another before run on the same dyno and will see if the exhaust produced any gains :)

I've got a decat coming too!

Interesting look forward to your results. The Piper system is a larger bore the whole length of the system too.

I'd like to know how this sounds as soon as you get one as I will be after one myself pretty soon I reckon

Sounds good! Don't really notice it at motorway cruising but it is loud when you're taking it over 2.5k in anger! Loud pigeon sound on every gear change, I'll get some vids if/when I have time :)

Only thing is it sounds odd at idle, kinda tinny, I hope this will settle a bit

joshh did u buy the 0 silencer in the end or the end with the decat??

thats exsacley what i want to do tbf :)

hows it sound

What's the difference between 0 silencer and 1 silencer systems??

What's the difference between 0 silencer and 1 silencer systems??

Well, one has a silencer and the other doesn't

I have the 0 silencer system, but still have the cat in place. I'm VERY happy with it! As has been said, at motorway speeds it's really quiet - only marginally louder than standard unless you're gunning it obviously. When on boost it's a fair bit louder, but still nowhere near excessive or chavvy by any stretch of the imagination.

I am going to upgrade to a decat in the future I'm that chuffed with it! My mates who've heard it all said it sounds awesome from outside the car too...

It was my post that actually started the piper promotion thing on here haha, ive had it for a while now (cat back 0 silencers) and i still love it, do long journeys now and again and ill admitt sometimes it does feel a little too loud in the cabin, but thats only when ive had a head ache/hangover.. so all in all i really do love it, drunken purchase i dont regret for once :) haha
