hi guys anyone no if u can remap 1.4 16v and is there any one as got any decent bhp from the 1.4

Yes you could, but I doubt you would gain anything over 5bhp or so on its own.

wasnt going do it on its own i was going to replace exhaust and air filter then remap. after this wot would i be looking to gain

Probably about 10bhp total net gain, but might improve throttle response etc.

This probably won't be the reply you wanted but for the cost of the map, the premium increase when you declare it to your insurance company and the cost of a panel filter you'll get bugger all performance, yes you can get decent bhp from the engine but the cost is usually prohibitive (new cam, remap, exhaust, proper intake system etc).

You'd be better off saving the money for a car with better potential if you want performance or improve the power to weight ratio by loosing some weight from the car. Spare tyre swapped for a can of Holts finest, rear seats out, don't fill the tank more than you need etc.
