Fog lights on Octavia

Recommended Posts

It's an expensive retrofit as the wiring won't be there, nor will the switch on the dash.

It's a new wiring loom, CANBUS coding and a new switch, plus the cost of the fog lights themselves.

My understanding is that you would need the lights, a wiring loom, a new light switch and then VCDS.

Personally, I bought the lamps (20 quid each) and made up a loom with a relay and a switch from Maplin. Not OEM but the car looks better for having the lamps. Plus, I only need fog lamps once a year. If that, so why spend money on a OEM fitting.Anyways, here is a link to a pdf with comprehensive instructions enjoy http://www.geogob.net/vw/fog_install_ver1_rev1.pdf

Is the wiring not there already? When I take the covers off there is awire and plug there - assumed it was for fogs - am I wrong?

I have a redundant headlight (front and rear fogs) switch you can have if you want. All's good, it's leftover from when I did the auto-lights upgrade.

(Moderator note: just so we're clear here, this is called "goodwill" not "for financial gain" i.e. it's not being sold.  )
