I bought my car at 81,000 on the clock.

The service history says that the toothed belt? has been done at 79,000, im unsure as to whether this means timing belt or not?

Is there anyway of checking if it has been done as if it hasn't it will surely need changing like....now?

Well, theres a stamp from a garage, think it has their phone number on it, not too sure though. Would they/should they, still have it on record as to whether it was changed or not?

If you can accurately trace the garage they may well hold a record of work completed. Definately need to verify at that mileage.

Toothed belt is the cambelt yes.

Pretty sure "toothed belt" = cambelt
