PCV Valve on Octavia diesel?

Featured Replies

I have an Octavia hatchback, 2003. 1.9 tdi 130hp 6 speed. Engine code ASZ.

I believe I have excessive crank-case pressure since if I remove the oil dipstick whilst the engine is running then a get regular puffs of smoke. I don't think this is normal. (?).

My first port of call would be the PCV valve to ensure that this or associated pipework was not blocked and thus not allowing the release of crank-case pressure.

I see there is a pipe from a ' moulded fitting' on top of the rocker cover which is connected to the egr via a pipe. However, this fitting does not seem to be removable for testing/checking and so I am now unsure if my diesel actually has a PCV valve at all?

Can anyone help? If i do have one, where is it and how do I check it?

Thanks, Terry
