Removing cat down pipe

Featured Replies

Hi guys!

Set about starting to fit my new piper exhaust.

After battling my exhaust and mullering it up with the angle grinder I got it off! Then realising the cat down pipe is in a right awkward place directly over the driveshaft. What's the best method to get at the 3 studs? I can't see a ratchet being able to squeeze in there really? I ran out of time and have abandoned the car on the drive :D

So I'll be back at it in the morning, full of a hangover but with the need to get the car running :p

Cheers

You can get to all three bolts from the top with different lengths of extension bar. Remove the air box and flexible pipe for better access. Also unbolt the alloy intake pipe so it can be manoeuvred slightly out of the way.

You can also get to a couple of the nuts with a spanner from underneath but can be a right pain
