The infamous air con clutch failure?

Featured Replies

Next step is to check the earth points under the battery/battery tray. Check they are not broken (it's easy to squash them when putting the battery tray back in).

If the earths are OK, check the connectors to the fans are OK and the connectors to the fan control are plugged in.

Your help and advise is much appreciated, will have a look tommorow, or if not when i return on tuesday....

What was the outside temp when you had it on the ramp? If it was under a certain temp the aircon won't work. Just thought I'd just mention it as its got cold again

Found it!

It's yours FOC. PM me your name and address and I'll mail them out to you (clutch plate, washer and nut).

Gotta say a massive thank you to the man with a barely pronouncable name. After half hour of swearing and laying on my head (no ramps to use) i got the air con clutch back on. Slight squeel when first turning the car on but that settled down very quickly and i have ice cold air con. Doesn't even need a regass.

Heres some pics of the air con clutch counterhold tool i made as per rwbaldwins instructions.

Its about a foot long and I managed to jam it into the ground so I didn't have to worry about holding onto it whilst screwing the nut down. Brilliant. Now for some more swearing as I try and fit my bloody bonnet lifters for the millionth time.
