Changing my Fabia alternator belt... HELP

Featured Replies

Hi,

driving home the other day my alternator belt snapped and i managed to get it home.

Ive bought the replacement belt from GSF car parts and run the belt over the pulleys but having trouble setting the tension. Its on a W reg Fabia 1.4 mpi comfort which has air con.

I have took the two bolts out of the tensioner against the air con pump so that i can get the belt on correctly, but now when I'm trying to push the tensioner back to relocate the two bolts, i can get it close but nowhere near close enough to start the bolts.

If i bolt the tensioner into place then try to slip the belt over the pulleys the belt is too tight to get over them and none of the pulleys seem to be spring loaded.

The part number for the belt is have from GSF is 134FO0330

If anyone can shed some light on this id be more than grateful.

Cheers
