seat belt retracing problem

Featured Replies

having problems with all four seat belts not retracting very quickly. Very annoying is there a quick fix or is the seat belt nakered

Pull each belt out all the way, then spray and wipe the whole length with furniture polish. It's usually just a build up of crud that stops it retracting smoothly

Check the owners manual, tells you to regularly clean the belts with a mild soapy solution.

Both my fronts were slow . The furniture polish ( mr sheen) cured it ,but I need to do them again . Strangely enough ,they only seem slow after i take it off. It seem to tension up nicely when worn .

The spring is wound tighter when more of the belt is out, when you take the belt off I bet it goes back part of the way then slows.

That's right - but if I hand feed the belt ,it will retract fully. Time for more mr Sheen ,I think .

For those that scorn - it works.Fully pull out belt, spray with polish( something with silicion in it) ( hm-will kate price do ?) and let it retract. Pull it out/ let it retract several times, and you'll notice the difference.
