215/45/17 On 7" Wide Rim (MK2 vRS)

Featured Replies

Theres a fair amount of room there as well. The wheels are well inside of the arch. SO unles you are going for the slammed look you would be OK. Im going lower but ill not be going crazy as it just ruins the everyday drivability of the car.

I'm persoanlly going to go for 15' wheels. 205/55/15's on super sticky slicky.

That just for the 1/4 mile? I have 330mm brakes going on so im stuck with 17". Wouldnt have minded a 16" rim as theres a good availability of track tyres at good prices then

Would they fit over the brakes?

you could probably fit 10" wheels over the stock brakes

Yeah 15 inch steelies fit the front, just! I have them as my winter wheels. I dont intend to upgrade the brakes etc as im happy with the power and im not too keen on taking it around my local (Knockhill) track because knowing me I'd write it off.

It's harder to crash going in a striaght line

Sorry to dig this one up!

Will the car run ok running 215/40/17s on the front and 205/40/17s on the back?

Yea just watch out for over steer as you'll have alot more front end grip so the car will turn in quicker.

Thanks bud, thinking of chucking on some Federal's for the rest of the challenge season

Seems to be the Tyre of the moment. I'm waiting till i get my coilies so i can see how wide a rim i can get on it hopefully 8 - 8¹/2 wide and about a 235mn wide Tyre for some nice extra grip

What brakes do the vw, Audi and Seat equivalent cars have?

Same brakes - you can get the 312mm upgrade but I think Seats have the option of 4 pot racing brakes.
