rear door black panels

Featured Replies

hello all,

just wondering if this is a fault on my car or does everybodys do this?

the blackpanels on the rear doors (the ones next to the window) stick out (4-5 mm)when the door is shut. i would of thought that they should be flush for the aerodynamics of the car.

is everybodys else like this

Yes they're all like that.

wonder why they did not make it flush?

Because the front part of it is mounted on the door post, so couldn't be sunk any further.

And to be honest I doubt it really matters. Looking at the dirt/water traces across the side of the car it doesn't affect the air flow in any way. If it did the dirt/water traces would swirl, and they don't, they are straight.

they also scratch very easily too.
